Orange belt course [6th Gup]

One of the challenging technique you will learn will be a back kick, which is stronger and most powerful kick ever. Mastering this technique will give you a tremendous confidence and drive which will make you most fearless. You are ranked as 6th Gup for Orange Belt.

KNIFE HAND NECK STRIKE
Neck strike is appears in Taegeuk 3 jhang in between first and second line and is also be used in one step sparring for orange belt course. Name in Korean of these movements are as follows:

  • 손날목치기Sonnal-Mok-Chigi
    Inner neck strike
  • 손날목치고 지르기sonnal-mok-chigo- Jireugi
    Inner neck strike followed by punch

KNIFE HAND OUTER NECK STRIKE
Outer neck strike is not used in any Taegeuk poomsae however we are going to learn this to match with inner neck strike for one step sparring for orange belt course. Name in Korean of these movements are as follows:

  • 손날 바깥치기Sonnal-Bakat-Chigi
    Outer neck strike
  • 손날 바깥치고 지르기Sonnal-Bakat-chigo- Jireugi
    Outer neck strike followed by punch

DOUBLE KNIFE HAND VARIATION
We are going to learn all of the variation of double knife block to prepare for the Taegeuk 4 jhang in next course. Since there are lots of new hand techniques in green belt course we are going to learn some of it in advance.

BACK KICK | 뒤차기 (Dwi-Chagi)
The Back Kick is the most powerful of all taekwondo kicking techniques. The mechanics of the Back Kick resemble those of the side kick. The Back Kick is most frequently used as a counter attack. Proper technique with the back kick is achieved when the speed and power generated by rotation of the upper body is transferred into the liner thrusting motion of the leg.

FRONT FOOT ROUND HOUSE KICK | 앞발 앞돌려차기( Aap-bal-Aap-Dyollyo-chagi)
The mechanics of the front round house Kick is similar to those of the round house kick. The front round kick is used as a counter attack. FRONT FOOT SIDE KICK | 앞발 옆차기 (Aap-bal- yop-chagi)
The front side kick is also used as a counter attack. Once an attack has been initiated the motion can not be easily changed until it is completed, thus creating the potential for counter attack if the attack was perceived by your opponent in time. Highly chambering of the knee, then the extension of the knee are essential to succeed in this technique.

One of the most important pair of combinations. Back kick combinations as offensively, front foot kicks combinations as defensively. Check it out!
